Mal Weeraratne is a British pioneer of emotional release through bodywork

Some might say that we are in unprecedented times as the globe turns hopefully towards healing from the ravages of the last two or so years. Unprecedented because never has everyone across the entire globe been taken siege in the way that we experienced with the Covid-19 pandemic which was able to spread like wild-fire, zig-zagging its way around the world, fuelled by the ability of human beings to move with ease across continents, thanks to technology. While the world has faced world wars, and pandemics, natural disasters, and environmental crisis before, nothing compared to the devastating effects caused by a super-spreading virus, which has caused untold financial and emotional devastation and destroyed families through tragic loss of life. There is not one person who has not in some way been affected by the events of the last years so if you are one of those people who experienced any of the emotional, physical, or spiritual repercussions of the pandemic, Mal Weeraratne has a ground-breaking approach to emotionally detox the body and help you with shedding negativity so that you may look to the future with a new outlook on life.

Mal face to face

Mal Weeraratne has assisted thousands of people and couples heal and grow into to health and loved one again after experiencing bad outcomes from previous relationships and events.

Embracing traditional Indian and Chinese beliefs and practices, Mal Weeraratne has developed his unique style of Tantric-Tao practices, which work with the energy centres of the body, customarily known as the Chakras, to initiate the release of life energy. In both Indian ad Chinese traditions, it is believed that energy flows through all living things and when they are in alignment, these energies facilitate and sustain the body’s natural healing ability. Both philosophies also recognise that sexual energy is the basis of life energy, which is why tantric energy plays such a pivotal role in the healing process. Increased tantric energy is just one of the many benefits recipients of the Tantric practices that Mal Weeraratne shares with singles, couples and healing practitioners in his sessions and workshops, integrating Eastern wisdom with Western knowledge of science.

Release any negative feelings and experiences that may have been instrumental in creating a future without joy, in which you were not functioning at your very best and replace those negative thoughts and emotions by emotionally detoxing with Tantric Journey. These are all questions that spring to mind when presented with Mal Weeraratne the founder of Tantric Journey School of Healing and Awakening, a UK Tantra Master who has recently published his first book, entitled, ‘ Emotional Detox through Bodywork’. Mal explains that he has worked in the field of emotional detox since 1994 and has treated clients from the UK, Asia, Europe and the United States. ‘I am extremely indebted to the teachers who trained me and showed me the path that enabled me to pioneer my deeply healing emotional release bodywork’. book

Mal explains that his unique treatment combines ancient and modern holistic therapies including Tantric and Tao techniques to provide a deeply healing therapy that is capable of removing negative, trapped emotions from the body. ‘My work can be misconstrued because people don’t understand what Tantra is’, says Mal.  He explains, ‘Tantra was originally practised as a path to enlightenment through sensual energy called Prana. This is very powerful and when circulated around the body leads to a positive, energised state; indeed it invigorates the entire body.’ Harnessing sexual energy is a very powerful technique that is an essential tantric technique and as Mal describes, ‘familiarity with Tantra can help a person enjoy life to the fullest’; this is because harnessing sexual energy rejuvenates and improves physiological, emotional, psychological and spiritual health.

At Tantric Journey School of Healing and Awakening in London, Mal’s unique treatment method that combines Tantra, Tao bodywork along with specialised trauma release methods that are capable of releasing trauma at cellular level in the body is both practiced and taught. Mal is considered a pioneer in the field of emotional detox through bodywork and has treated thousands of clients from around the world with his unique treatment method:  Tantric Journey and he is committed to offering training and ensuring that his knowledge and skill is passed on to other therapists.

Whilst Mal works as both a therapist and teacher from his Tantric Temple in Hammersmith, London, he also teaches at Tao Gardens in Thailand. During his training sessions Mal has witnessed many positive transformations, but for those who cannot attend one of his courses his book is an excellent self-help guide. In the book Mal reveals how all women are capable of experiencing emotional freedom and ecstatic bliss and covers everything from information on understanding how the female body may be activated to deepen ecstatic states; yoni massage, detox diet; strengthening the pelvic floor, negative emotions, healthy orgasm, healthy male ejaculation and so much more.

Emotional Detox through Bodywork is packed with practical advice and tips and readers will learn how emotional trauma can block pleasure and cause disease; the difference between soft penetration and deep sustained penetration, including how to avoid premature male ejaculation; the secrets and history of female ejaculation; techniques for awakening and yoni massage and will come to understand how emotional trauma can block pleasure and cause disease. The book is an excellent starting point for those who wish to improve their health and well-being or wish to understand how negative emotions are stored within the body.

For those who wish to seek professional help to release negative emotions and experience full release /emotional freedom from stagnant negative emotions then a session with Mal or one of his fully qualified Tantric Journey therapists is recommended. Mal Weeraratne has over twenty years experience in his field and offers one-to-one therapy sessions, 7 days per week in London, via appointment. He has treated thousands of women from around the globe and has also trained therapists in his unique and pioneering technique, Tantric Journey.  He explains that he trains women to perform the Tantric Journey treatment on men and men to act as therapists for women; this is because this treatment is aided by the opposite polarities of the male and female energy.

His certified Tantric Journey Educators Programme is certainly something that will challenge a person’s previously held beliefs and perceptions. Mal explains that this advanced training will ‘strip away the illusions upon which your life has been based, uncovering blocks and penetrating the lies leaving you soaring as an expression of freedom’.

It is best to start with a taster course in which you can explore easy-to-master yet extremely potent and transformational tools and healing techniques. Mal runs a series of talks, workshops and courses for individuals, couples and those who want to become practitioners.

Tantric Journey begins with four key practices:

•          Deep breathing with attention
•          Movement with feelings
•          Chanting with expression of emotions
•          Tantric massage to remove negative imprints

Deborah Sundahl, author and sex educator states, “The negative messages are stored physically, as memories, in the body. By understanding how this “body memory” operates, woman can use a valuable physical technique that can help heal and protect them from all kinds of assaults to their sexuality, from minor to serious”.

Key to the success of Tantric Journey is Mal’s respect and understanding of his client’s needs and condition. The treatments are performed in a safe and secure environment at a pace that is defined and agreed by the client.  Mal Weeraratne says, ‘’I can appreciate the fact, that for many people it may be scary to start this journey. Tantric Journey is similar to taking off in a space shuttle. It’s very noisy at the beginning, making the whole earth vibrate and with plenty of smoke around. But as it goes up into the blue sky through the dark and gloomy clouds, it becomes less and less noisy and uncomfortable. When it enters space it really becomes a smooth, effortless, pleasurable journey.’’

Emotional Detox through bodywork

Understanding my work – Mal Weeraratne

Mal Weeraratne is the founder of Tantric Journey Bodywork which releases layers of trapped negative emotion that have been stored within the cellular system, this can prompt a healing crisis to occur. Mal has treated thousands of clients from all over the world and has encountered many clients that have been confused about the initial symptoms of emotional release.

Mal explains that, ‘’It is important to understand that when we begin to strip away layers of armour through bodywork, it can be as significant and painful as the original trauma because the first stage of a healing crisis is to come out of numbness and bring back sensation and emotion to the body.’’ If you have been numb for years it can be frightening when the sensations arise. Coming out of numbness into sensation is the first step in healing, but it can be a daunting process.

The release of trapped negative emotions may take place during the session and after the session; indeed it is usual for this to continue for up to three days after treatment.

Typically, three days after treatment you will be less negative and feel more positive and alive. The healing recovery process will depend on the amount of blocks one has and the intensity of the treatment. Some clients have taken over 2-3 weeks to recover and there is no way of telling how long recovery will take. Release comes in many forms and the most common indications that you’re experiencing a healing crisis can include headache, nausea, and fever. During the crisis, a recurrence of symptoms from long forgotten illnesses may also occur, but every client is different and so are their symptoms.

Remember when experiencing an ‘emotional cleanse’, which is what Tantric Journey bodywork does for you it is important to keep sight of the fact that it is normal and only to be expected that the anxieties that we wish to cleanse will appear to worsen post-treatment this all a natural process of bringing the emotions to the surface so that they can be cleared out. This time can be very difficult and can mean that you feel very vulnerable, it is not the therapy or therapist to blame for the negative feeling, just a natural elimination of negative emotions that have been stored within your bodies cellular memory.  You need to drink plenty of water and natural juices, avoiding caffeine, alcohol and stimulants and eat a healthy diet to aid the process; but most importantly talk to your therapist and make sure you have lots of positive support around you.

Mal Weeraratne – The Truth!

My Truth – Mal Weeraratne

Bodywork is a therapy that can be misunderstood and treatments can go wrong due to a lack of understanding of treatment processes and through trauma transference and projections.

When releasing stagnant negative emotions through bodywork the client and therapist are both placed in a vulnerable position.

Through bodywork the client effectively heals themselves through the presence and direction of an experienced therapist. The therapist is a catalyst and guide for the release of trauma, working on trigger points to aid the accessing and eventual release of negative emotions. Before the emotions can be released they must be accessed and fully felt in the clients body, this may lead to her feeling sad, angry, despairing and vulnerable etc. This is all part of the process of emotional detox through bodywork, but because the client is experiencing ‘emotional pain’ it is possible for them to feel abused due to their emotional turmoil and vulnerability or to transfer the blame for their negative feelings on to the therapist; in short a therapist’s intentions can be misconstrued and they can also become scapegoat for negative emotional experiences that occur during treatment.

Performing bodywork on someone who is suffering emotional trauma and emotionally detoxing can be likened to cracking an eggshell. To someone going through this process the act of having their body touched in the course of treatment can be incredibly painful and damaging as the outer body is not strong enough to hold onto the emotions in response to deep bodywork. It is at this stage that trauma transference can occur and a client can come to blame the therapist for the terrible emotional upset they feel and sometimes become confused about the intentions of the therapist, especially if the client has experienced abuse as the negative emotions connected with this will surface.

It is essential that therapists are fully aware of the emotions that they may experience after a treatment and that the therapist is fully supportive during and after a therapy session, so that a client can complete her emotion process cycle in a safe and supportive environment without the need to explain or quantify her feelings.

Do you suffer with Trauma Transference Syndrome

Meet Mal Weeraratne who first recognised Trauma Transference Syndrome, Mal Weeraratne has treated thousands of clients and has spent several decades learning and researching the effects that trauma takes on the body, the results of his findings culminated in his founding of Trauma Transference Syndrome.

A traumatic experience impacts on an entire person. The way we think, the way we learn, the way we remember things, the way we feel about ourselves, the way we feel about other people, and the way we make sense of the world are all profoundly altered by traumatic experiences, which is why it is so important that trauma and the resulting emotions are dealt with and that a victim of trauma is helped to process the experience. If trauma is not process the powerful images, feelings, and sensations do not just ‘go away’ instead they are deeply imprinted and are stored in the body’s cellular memory.

The following illustration is a map how emotions are stored in the body. (Bodily maps of emotions by Lauri Nummenmaa, Enrico Glerean, Riitta Hari, and Jari K. Hietanen)

The active memories of the trauma remains ‘locked’ in the system causing blockages until a ‘trigger’ occurs. When a trigger that allows the victim to access the trauma presents itself, in suffers of Trauma Transference Syndrome the real cause of the original trauma is not recognised and is instead transferred to the new stimuli or trigger, for example if a therapist treats a client who is storing trauma in his/her body and acts as the trigger for releasing this trauma the client will assign the blame for the trauma to the therapist who has helped them access the trauma.

In order to understand Trauma Transference Syndrome it is necessary to understand how trauma enters the body during a traumatic event and how it is stored within the body as well as the effects that this stored trauma has on the victim.  Also how the trauma can be accessed and transferred if not treated.

Why does Trauma Transference Syndrome Occur?

Trauma Transference Syndrome occurs when a past trauma such as sexual abuse has been engraved into the cellular memory and has not been dealt with. It is now recognised that victims of abuse such as rape and sexual abuse suffer from a form of post-traumatic stress. The signs of this trauma scarring are not generally outwardly visible, the memory has been supressed in the mind, but the powerful images, feelings, and sensations do not just “go away” once the danger of attack has passed. These memories are deeply imprinted, more strongly than normal everyday memories and often shards of the trauma occur from time to time manifesting in feelings of anger, rage, sadness, mistrust, fear, shame, loneliness, abandonment.

Mal Weeraratne will help you with whatever trauma you have faced especially if you suffer Trauma Transference Syndrome.

Do you suffer from sexual dysfunction

Female Dysfunction:  The Silent Epidemic

Women have for many centuries suffered in silence with sexual dysfunction which has been embarrassing and something which is not often spoken about.  The male population are not the only sufferers of sexual dysfunction. Majority of people are aware of erectile dysfunction, impotence and issues that relate to male sexuality, however, it is estimated that four out of ten British women suffer from sexual dysfunction and despite it being common it is still largely ignored.

Some of the symptoms women suffer from can include lack of sexual desire, an inability to enjoy sex, pain during intercourse, insufficient vaginal lubrication or, even if sexually aroused, a failure to achieve an orgasm leading to feelings of inadequacy, depression and alienation.  According to The Sexual Advice Association, sexual problems affect around 50% of women, making it a common problem that remains largely unheard of.  It seems that most women think they are the only ones in the world to have these problems because all the magazine articles and media coverage are about amazing sex and fantastic orgasms, but there are thousands of women out there who are in the same situation.

Times appear to be changing and women desperate to improve their quality of life are beginning to take action and seek help.  Mal Weeraratne founder of Tantric Journey is a specialist in the field of female sexual dysfunction and works as a trained therapist, helping women overcome their difficulties through Sexual Healing & Relationship Therapy.

Through his Tantric Journey work Mal Weeraratne has helped to release many women from their negative emotional restraints and open a new gateway of self-actualization.  He has treated thousands of women from across the globe to overcome physical inhibitions such as sexual dysfunction, insomnia, inability to achieve orgasm, stresses, body aches and vagainism.  Aiding them to improve relationships or increase intimacy with their partners and even successfully find partners.  Whilst increasing self confidence in women by defeating their deteriorative subconscious ways and allowing them to enter realm of positive energy.

Key to the success of Tantric Journey is Mal’s respect and understanding of his client’s needs and condition. The treatments are performed in a safe and secure environment at a pace that is defined and agreed by the client.  Mal says, ‘’I can appreciate the fact, that for many people it may be scary to start this journey. But as it goes up into the blue sky through the dark and gloomy clouds, it becomes less and less noisy and uncomfortable. When it enters space it really becomes a smooth, effortless, pleasurable journey.’’

The treatment is a culmination of Tantric Bodywork, breathing techniques, body movement and sound therapy, but it starts with a long consultation where you can discuss, what you wish to achieve from the session, what your fears are and what your boundaries are.  It can be difficult to face the  Fear – Guilt – Shame – Anger – Mistrust that are at the root of sexual dysfunction, but living in a perpetual state of anxiety, feeling concern about sexual performance,  encountering  relationship problems, living with depression, feelings of guilt, or the effects of a past sexual trauma is not conducive to a happy life. All women have the right to freedom from sexual dysfunction and a fulfilling love life.
